Abstract:
|
That the doctrine of the Atonement is still a subject of the greatest interest and importance to theologians is evidenced by the large number of books and articles published since the turn of the century dealing with the topic. While all the writers are dependent in some degree upon theologians of earlier generations, it can be claimed that they have made some significant contributions to our though upon the subject. It is the purpose of this paper to discuss the major trends in the thinking of British theologians of the past fifty years upon the doctrine of the Atonement. |
