This is an internal review of the June 2002 WIRA Summer Institute. The WIRA Summer Institute was designed with a number of objectives in mind. The intention was to create a unique, shared learning experience for university students and community practitioners through a series of workshop-style sessions addressing a range of issues related to community development in Winnipeg’s inner city. The Institute aimed to take a “hands-on” approach to learning, to combine classroom learning with “on the ground” experience of Winnipeg’s inner-city communities, and to provide instruction that combined theory and practice. It includes course schedule, course outlines, assignments, course abstracts, field trip outlines, publicity materials and course evaluations.en_US
