The Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) initiated this study in an effort to understand how municipal governments are implicated in programs and services for Aboriginal people living within their boundaries. This report derives information from a literature review, analysis of Aboriginal data within the FCM Quality of Life Reporting System (QOLRS), and a series of interviews with municipal service providers. The work undertaken in this study highlights a number of important findings for municipal governments. The basic tasks undertaken to complete the research in this project included a review of relevant literature, analysis of appropriate statistical information and interviews of municipal officials.en_US
