Pratt, Donald E. A Review and Critique of the Doctrine of the Atonement in the Writings of British Theologians Since 1900; submitted as a Thesis for the degree of Bachelor of Divinity in the Faculty of Theology, United College, Winnipeg. Winnipeg, April 1952.
That the doctrine of the Atonement is still a subject of the greatest interest and importance to theologians is evidenced by the large number of books and articles published since the turn of the century dealing with the topic. While all the writers are dependent in some degree upon theologians of earlier generations, it can be claimed that they have made some significant contributions to our though upon the subject. It is the purpose of this paper to discuss the major trends in the thinking of British theologians of the past fifty years upon the doctrine of the Atonement.
