Report on the Residence Satisfaction Survey
Institute of Urban Studies; Pregnall, Janis
The Residence Satisfaction Survey was undertaken to determine the level of satisfaction felt by students living in the University of Winnipeg's residences. The survey was administered in February 2001 by Janis Pregnall, Housing Coordinator, and analyzed by the Institute of Urban Studies. The results will help the University identify the strengths and weaknesses of its student accommodation. The results will also help guide Phase II of the University's Long-term Student Housing Initiative by assessing students' needs and expectations of their residence experience.

Student Housing Overview: Assessing Issues and Potential Options
Carter, Tom; Christopher, Gary; Church, Michelle; Distasio, Jino; Dudley, Michael; Grant, Dianne; Mulligan, Susan; Northcott, David; Sargent, Kurt; Sylvestre, Gina
This report sets out for the administration
of the University of Winnipeg some of the
contexts, considerations and principles
necessary when undertaking any future
housing-oriented development. The report
provides general support for the
proposition that – given demonstrated need
for affordable and accessible housing in the
neighbourhoods surrounding the University
of Winnipeg – some kind of mixed-use
development – incorporating affordable,
accessible housing for a range of household
types, as well as other services that would
cater to both the student body and residents
and organizations of the surrounding
communities – would be beneficial to the
university and be consistent with both the
surrounding community as well as its
overall strategic plan.

Greyhound Bus-Terminal: Analysis of Options for the Winnipeg Downtown Terminal: Final Report
Christopher, Gary
This report examines the Greyhound Bus terminal and its proximal relationship to the
University of Winnipeg and the remainder of downtown. The purpose of the report is to
focus on key issues such as zoning, urban design, and environmental concerns. It also
recognizes that discussions are presently underway to create a multimodal passenger
terminal (or MPT) at the airport, that would likely include intercity bus service.
As a neighbourhood stakeholder, the University of Winnipeg has an interest in what
direction the bus terminal site is taken in; but in a larger sense, the University of
Winnipeg is becoming a major contributor to the redevelopment of downtown. Therefore
this report considers not only the perspective of the University of Winnipeg, but also the
extent to which such redevelopment would meet the transportation needs of Winnipeg
residents.
